Steps
Income and Identity Verification Overview
As part of the rental application, applicants are prompted to verify both income and identity to support a secure and efficient leasing process.
During the application, you will see a section titled Income Verification. If a manual request is sent, you will also receive an email containing a Verify Income link.
Applicants may choose one of the following income verification methods:
Connect to a bank account
Connect to a payroll account
Upload a recent pay stub
Additional documents such as offer letters or other income sources can be uploaded at the end of the application.
Option 1: Connect to a Bank Account
Review and accept the verification partner’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Search for and select your bank.
Log in using your online banking credentials.
Select the bank account or accounts to use for verification.
💡 Tip: You may add multiple bank accounts. All selected accounts are used together to generate a complete income report.
Option 2: Connect to a Payroll Account
Review and accept the verification partner’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Search for your payroll provider, employer, or gig platform.
Log in using your payroll credentials.
Wait for confirmation before continuing with the application.
Option 3: Upload a Pay Stub
Review and accept the verification partner’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Upload your most recent pay stub.
Continue with the application.
Attaching Additional Documents
On the Attach Documents page, you may upload additional proof of income, including:
Offer letters
Scholarship award letters
Other relevant income documentation
Troubleshooting
Did not receive the Verify Income email → Check your spam or junk folder, then return to your application to resend the request if needed.
Unable to connect to a bank or payroll provider → Try another verification method or upload a pay stub instead.

Q: Can I use more than one income source?
A: Yes. You can upload multiple documents or connect multiple accounts to reflect all sources of income.
Q: Are my banking or payroll credentials stored?
A: No. Credentials are used only to complete verification and are handled securely by the verification partner.

ID Verification
As applicants complete the application, they will also be prompted to verify their identity through a secure process powered by Plaid.
The ID Verification process includes three steps:
- Enter Personal Information
- Full name, phone number, address, date of birth, and SSN
- This is automatically checked against government databases to confirm the applicant’s identity.
- Submit a Photo ID Document
- Applicants will upload a photo of their ID (like taking a check photo for mobile deposit).
- The system verifies the authenticity of the ID and cross-checks it with the entered information.
- Submit a Selfie Video
- A short selfie video is recorded.
- Still images from the video are compared to the photo ID to confirm that the applicant is the genuine owner.
Once complete, the applicant is automatically moved to the next step of the rental application.
